i am searching for my birth family i was born at st therese hospital in illinois. the doctor that delivered me was my birth mothers doctor and also my adopted mothers and family doctor he arranged the adoption. his name was john bellucci. he has since retired and his children have taken over his practice. they told me that they cannot give me any information without the parents permission if they even still have the information as i am now almost 27 years old. the only things i know about my mother was that she was 19 years old (they think) and she had looong dark hair. i was adopted by the vanca family and taken home from the hospital when i was 5 days old. i just started this search and really dont know what the heck im doing. hope this helps me in some way.

A bit of info on St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan, IL: They had a program there that was known as The Staffer Program. This was run through Catholic Charaties and allowed a pregnant woman to go there to have her child. The program was designed for TOTAL privacy... if people knew you were there, you were the one that told them.

What was available at the time I was there in 1975 was both agency and private adoption personnel to help *IF* adoption was your choice. There were a number of women that opted to keep their babies and were aforded the same privacy policy as the ones that were there for adoption.

It is possible that your birth mother could have been in the program at the time and the adoption set-up through one of the many resources through this program.

thank you for your responce it is quite possible that Dr. balluci was in some way connected with that agency. I have found out that over the years he helped place hundreds of babies and that he did lots of community work helping the poor families in the area. He is a truly good man the only problem with that is he cannot possibly remember me with all the other people he helped lol. I have only ever talked with his son and he said that they are not required to keep records longer than 20 years and the hospital only has to for 22 years i missed it by a few years. although i know there is someone somewhere that knows something i inquired through a P.I. in ill. and he found HER name but i didnt have the money to pay him for the info at the time. so i figured if he could find her i could it would just take a little time. still not giving up though

Update...lost $475 on a bogus search place havnt found out anythimg new from my family...The Dr who delivered me died and his kids who took over the practice dont want to help.....this sucks dont know why i ever started in the first place...oh well live and learn Im going to focus on the future from now on and leave the past where it belongs...in the past.

ok so i was a little depressed there for like a minute then my daughter made me smile i feel a little better i wish i could show a picture of her to my bmom she is my clone in every way. sigh ... back to searching and searching and searching...

The IARMIE website - Register right now if you have not already!! You cannot petition for a CI without registering first. You'll find the forms link in the middle of the page. If you have any questions, just call the office. And though they are vey busy, they are extremely nice and helpful.

The Confidential Intermediary Service website for information on petitioning for a Confidential Intermediary (CI). Don't use their forms though. See the link below. http://www.ci-illinois.org/

The link to the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County. This is where you'll need to drop off your petition (Daley Center - Room 1202). If you want to schedule your hearing the same day, they will send you to Room 1701, which is the Judge's office. The office is open 8:30-4 M-F except for the court holidays listed on this site. Use this site only for address and phone number information. This is the only place where you can bring or mail your petition in Cook County. One word of advice, when you go there, be patient!!
