Hello there I am a 24 year old adoptee and I was 9 when i found out about my past and its only now that i have a daughter of my own that i wonder if she ever thinks of me.
when it comes to birthdays and Christmas, I want so bad to tell her how my life turned out I know i would want to know if it was my child, but i also know that this must be hard for her she may have another family and husband my not know about me. Thats when i got the idea of writing a book, of letters to my birth family anon, just including dates she may read it and think this could be my child, and offer her/them some peace. I am asking others to come forward with their stories just including dates and names if they want. if you would like to then please email me your stories good or bad to Gabrielle.adoptionstories@googlemail.com with storey and permission to publish in the subject line. if i chose your storey i will send you a signed copy free of the published book. Thank you in advance Gabrielle x |

Gabrielle-
as a birthmom, I can tell you that I ALWAYS REMEMBER. my bson is NEVR far away from my thoughts- I always remember his birthday, and wonder how he is, if he's happy and healthy. He just turned 18 and I hope that someday he'll want to find me.. I have told my husband all about him, but my 10 year old knows nothing as yet about the older half-brother he has out there- I figure if and when he finds me, I'll tell him then...at 10 I don't think he has the rational ability to understand all that this encompasses.... I wish you nothing but the best in your search... I hope you reunite, and have a great experience.... Just wanted to add my 2cents as a birthmother, so you have a point of view from the other side.... Godd luck to you!!! Kerri |

A lot of times, what keeps a birth parent going, is knowing that they'll one day be found. I've spoken with my birth mom on the phone, and she's coming to see me and my brother here in Colorado in August, 2008. Maybe if you try the county you were adopted out of, you'll find her. You'll have to file a Consent To Release Form which will help. Most find out after 1 year where there family is. However, I got lucky as she found me after 6 months of signing the form. Good Luck.
