Unhappy Just found out i have a 1/2 brother too.

I am now 29 years old and have been having a really hard time trying to find my birth mother. I was born in 1978 at Women's Hospital in LV, NV. When i told my adopted family i have started looking again they told me i have a half brother who is 14 years older then me.
I have been having a really hard time (like most people looking for birth parents) but when i called the county i was born in Las Vegas, NV i was told that the hospital had burnt down and they told me good luck with that. I know minimal information about my birth mother of just what she looked like. Same thing for my father. I now know i have an older brother who is 14 years older then me. I cant believe that it would be this hard. I would think that someone was looking for me. But from what i can tell and find no one is. I dont know what to do anymore and i cant afford much if any at this time still. Never really could. I was told that trying to find someone who gave up for adoption in Las Vegas is next to impossible. Unless it was an open adoption. Well back in 1978 they really did not have open adoptions. If anyone knows anything or could help me in any way please help me.

Sorry that you haven't gotten the help that you are seeking...I wish I had something to offer you on your search...If by chance you are searching in Wisconsin...there is a great site...ICARE..that might be able to assist you. Perhaps if you give some more information...such as state of search... you may be able to get more information...sal

12 instead of 8 children

I just found out a few days ago there was 12 children born to my real mom instead of 8 so it was upsetting and at the same time exciting. Yet then you have the fact that she only kept 1 child out of all of them. Sort of makes you wonder why she had so many if she didnt want us. But I also was told the hospital where I was born burned down.

There are search angels out there that contacted me. I listed myself on every adoption search sight I could find. The only information I had was the hospital I was born and whatever information was on my amended birth certificate. Some how the "search angels" were able to look up all the births that occured on my birthday at that specific hospital and were able to see which one had no name listed for the child. That ultimatley led me to my last name....then one of the search angels suggested that I send out an e-mail to all the yahoo addresses that had my last name in them....which I did....300 messages. I basically said that I was an adoptee and said where I was born. when, who the doctor was listed on my B-certificate and what I thought my B-last name was. I truly thought this was a shot in the dark but 3 days later two of my cousins responded to me and told me that it was a family secret that their Aunt had come to CA to have a baby and put it up for adoption.....this led me to having contact with Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and then led me to finding my B-mom who was estranged from her family. They were awesome and had a lot of knowledge of where to go to get information. Good luck!

I hear what your saying. I was born at Womens hospital in Las Vegas NV. It bernt down as well. Or maybe its the same one. Its hard to think that i have family out there and she kept only one. I understand that her and my father where not married and he did not want children. She had a teenager who is growing and i can see that she could not have a baby to deal with. It sadens me that My brother knows he has a sister or a sibling at that and is not looking for me as well. Well as fair as i know.

Hi.....my birth certificate had nothing of my B-parents on it....it was only my amended B-certificate that I had it only had my adoptive parents listed on it...however it did have my original hospital of birth and doctor...does yours?.....if so one of the search angels can atleast look up birth records from the day you were born at that hospital..i believe this is public record some where and the search angels know how to access it...on those records it would have at least your B-Mom's last name...if you were the only one that was born without a name listed that day then there you have it...if there was another child born the same day that was put up for adoption then you would have to try to some how narrow down which one was you...it is worth a try...I never thought it would have worked for me.....I also just wanted to include something that I saw on a post that someone else put that really effected me deeply. I have shared it with one other adoptee on this site....This really spoke volumes to me because I was putting all my self worth and how I felt about myself into if my B-mom accepted me or how my adoptive family was with me....It helped to realize that some how I need to look into my self for that love and acceptance....not that I have been completely able to do that...easier said then done type of thing...but it was a first step in the right direction for me.

You do not need to be loved, not at the cost of yourself.
The single relationship truly central and crucial in a life is
the relationship to the self. It is rewarding to find someone
whom you love, but it is essential to love yourself. It is
quickening to recognize that someone is a good and decent
human being, but it is indispensable to view yourself as
acceptable as well. It is a delight to discover people who are wor-
thy of respect and admiration and love, but it is vital to be-
lieve yourself deserving of these things. For you cannot
live in someone else. You cannot find yourself in someone
else. You cannot be given a life by someone else. Of all the
people you will know in a lifetime, you are the only one
you will never leave nor lose.
To the question of your life,
you are the only answer. To the problems of your life, you
are the only solution

I'm sorry that it took so long for the responses to start coming for you. The only advice I have for you is to not give up. My birthson registered on this site a number of years ago; I stumbled on to it 2 years ago. After I registered, I got a match very quickly (after all, how many (male) babies born at the same hospital on the same day had been placed for adoption. D's info was out of date, but I had a name and was able to find him (actually his parents) that same evening. D was 32. (At 29, it must have seemed to him that he would never find me.)

No i have not had any luck. Its been 15 years and i have got nothing. I hope that one day they will want to know me. I have got to the courts and they will not help me, i have paid people and they just take my money. I cant afford to keep doing this. I will not give up the search. I just feel down and out at this time. Like i say maybe one day.

Thanks for all your love and help
