Tara:

You're right, it's not as simple as it may seem but the truth is, as with many situations, there are needs/wants by both the expectant woman and the paparents. And a child that needs a home with parents ready, willing and able to parent.

My son had a loving home with parents who were willing to parent him. It wasn't a matter of whether or not we were willing to parent him. It was a matter of "what we thought was right" at the time. Hindsight is often 20/20.

Regardless of if there is a need on both sides there is still sacrifice happening. To those who haven't experienced it it may seem that there isn't much sacrifice, but there is a huge amount.

Unless you have experienced placing a child you have no idea what sacrifices where made. I never felt so lonely ever in my life and it was the worst decision I have ever had to make. I did not have support from anyone and I made the best choice for my child not myself. My life has been forever altered by that decision. Friends often told me I was the oldest, young person that they knew. It was not easy or without sacrifice.

Thats a great story. When my parents are asked how they chose me they always say I chose them. I was 2 when I was adopted so I don't know thats possible...but then again who knows.

Noelle- Thank you for sharing that with us all! What a wonderful message! It brought tears to my eyes.
I truly believe God has brought my husband and I to our emom and I thank him everyday for that!
