Hi i am new this forum and would like to share my story.

I found out I was adopted in bits and pieces as I was growing up. My parents told me before I knew the word adoption and what it meant. They always told me and my twin sister that another lady had us. I never understood until I became 15-16.I caught on a bit slow!! lol It escaped my memory until this age.

I was a sophomore in High School. It was the spring and i was looking at some old papers I had found in the garage. I read them and it was confirming our adoption. It was a letter from the courthouse and a letter of offical adoption. Well I made a copy of the letters just in case I lost them or someone happened to take them. I hid them in a secret place and showed my sister when I was ready. We were both still not understanding this. We still kept questioning this in our minds even when the papers clearly stated the adoption. I left the original papers in my purse and never saw them again assuming that my parents took them from me.

Well on my 20th birthday last summer, my parents finally showed me and my sister almost everything that they had about our adoption. They showed us the pictures of my birth parents, the family history of both parents and also the letter my birth mother had written to us when we were babies. It was clear from the letter and the papers that she was around the ages or 14,15 and my birth father was I beleive 15 or 16. Either way that is how they told us.

Later that night after my parents went to sleep, I knew from the beginning that no one every tells you the entire truth or shows you everything. So I went through my mothers bag and pulled out more documents. Come to find out that my sister and I receive $50 checks each month until my adopted mother turns 65 years old. That is in a few more years. Anyway, i didnt understand the other stuff from the papers, but I looked at them and it was intersting. My mother still does not know that I know about these papers they didnt show us. I am not mad and never was mad. Just blessed!!

So now i want to find my birth parents. My parents were not allowed to know their names and I am not allowed full access to all the files until the age of 21 in the state of Ga which is in 2 monts.
