I am very new to this site...mostly new to the idea of a birthmother search. I am 26 and very curious, but more apprehensive. I have had a tremendously wonderful and honest upbringing, but of course curiousity lurks. Since I was adopted through an agency in the late 70s, they have services that allow for reunions if both adoptee and birthmother call in and give consent. Last year I gave my consent, but there was no contact from my birthmother. I am okay with that right now because I don't want to search out someone who doesn't want to be found just yet, but my curiosity--and my recent birhtday--brought me here. I don't have a name of a birthmother or anything. Just a city where I was born, an angency from where I came, and, of course, a birthday. Anyone have any helpful insights? I guess I can't do much of a search with what I have...? Thanks.
