We were told at 19 (that was 1988)--the story of our adoption seems sordid, at best. We love our adoptive Mother dearly, but she has only told us a story of a pathetic and vague nature regarding our former parents and adoption procedure.
According to her, and a very faint photocopy of our "original" B.C., our parents were named Alberto Villalta (Cuba), age 28*(?), and Maria Teresa Alberni (Costa Rica), age 20*(?). My birth name was Wilbert Villalta, my sister's was Terry Villalta--born at Brookdale Hospital, Brooklyn N.Y. April 11, 1969. We were adopted as infants and raised in Texas our whole lives, and are now faced with losing our adoptive mother to emphizema, as we are told she only has a few short years left. We only want answers--those things that will provide the missing puzzle pieces to the story of our lives! Thanks for taking time to read this-- Rob McElroy -- Los Angeles, CA * parents' ages are approximate at time of birth, going by my records. Last edited by rmcelroy03 : 03-10-2004 at 01:21 PM. |

Hi,
You might try see if Brooklyn had a city directory for the year of your birth. Unless your birth parents stayed with relatives, it may be possibly to find their addresses in the city directory. They probably have copies at the main Brooklyn Library. Good Luck, Joyce
