I have a name! now what
well, well, well...I am still in shock..how I got my bmom's last name is such a surprise. I always new where I was born and today I decided to call the city clerks office just to see if I can obtain my original birth records...ps after talking with the clerk and her being such a sweet heart she released the name to me that was on my original birth certificate...Knoetgen. I never had much to go on but now that I have something I don't know what to do. I was adopted in NY in 1970 and I believe she was from long island. any suggestions??

Thanks for the information. With an odd name like Knoetgen it is still a needle in a hay stack. She would be 50 by now and I have no idea where she would be living. I believe NY state does not release Marriage information from what I could gather nor SS#. Classmates is no help with only a last name. any other suggestions? Thanks Nancy
