I found Growth Charts!!!
Hello and good day my lovely peeps! You guys keepme going!
I have found some great links to growth charts referencing babies in general and specifically guatemalan babies. Remember from a previous post that guatemalan children raised in poverty IN guatemala tend to be much smaller due to malnutrition, but babies raised in non-poverty, with adequate nutrition will average about the same as American children/adults. If your baby is small at time of birth/adoption it is probably due to lack of nurishment for the birth mother during pregnancy, but he/she has every chance of catching up in your care. The links are: http://www.halls.md/chart/child-growth/pediatric.htm http://www.comeunity.com/adoption/health/growth.html http://www.cdc.gov/growthcharts/ http://www.eaci.com/medical/medical-growth_charts.htm Hope it helps answer some questions! <>Steph ![]() Last edited by FH-Bassette : 03-13-2003 at 12:18 PM. |
