Talking Yay!!

Hi all!

I've only posted a couple of messages here before--I usually just lurk--and LEARN alot!

But, I can't help but share our good news--we are out of PGN, getting passport and birth certificate this week--we lucked out the birthmom is in the city--and we travel to get our daughter next week!!!

We are very excited and I think I have a handle on what to bring for the baby--it sounds like most people do not use car seats--so we probably won't bring that and bring our snugli instead.

In terms of official paperwork--we should bring a copy of all documentation we have sent?? Our agency said to bring a blank I-600, the support document I-(can't remember the number right this second), three years of federal tax returns and our last pay stub. Does this sound right to those who have travelled? Apparently, our attorney will have everything done except our Embassy interview so that we will have a quick turn around time. We have a 2.5 year old son who is staying with Auntie until we return.

I look forward to hearing from anyone!

And for those who are watching the clock tick and waiting for the call--so were we--IT WILL HAPPEN!! I know everyone says it, but hang in there and have lots of FAITH!

Suzy,

A note on paperwork to take with you when you travel. Our agency also had us take copies of our last 3 years W-2's. Our facilitator especially double checked that we had these. We were also told to take our last month's worth of paycheck stubs but no one looked at these. We also took a current employment letter for both of us which had been notarized but not certified or authenticated. These letters stated that we were employed by such and such, made $XX,XXX and had been employed there for X years. We did have to give these to our facilitator for him to turn in at the Embassy.

HTH,

Oops!

Forgot to say CONGRATULATIONS! It is sooooo worth the wait. This last week and a half have been so awesome becoming a mom. Each day brings a new little surprise of some sort. Rolling over, learning how to turn the Oceans Wonder on himself, a new vocalization, eating Gerber bananas, no more crying in the car seat, and just tons of smiles and giggles. It won't be long until you're experiencing new joys yourself. Good luck.

Congratulations!!! You must be thrilled. How long were you in PGN? We are still in Family Court but I'm trying to get an idea of a time frame. Best of luck on your trip!!

Congratulations and have fun!!

I am sure your agency will tell you what to bring...seems like everyone wants something different.

We took our 3 years returns plus w-2s, the affadavit of support, the I600 and either employment letters or paystubs (can't remember which).

Good Luck and enjoy your trip!

Becky

Thanks

Thanks for all the words of encouragment everybody!

Yes, I forgot we are bringing last three years of W-2's.

Also, regarding PGN, we started early November, we were kicked out two times--and out 3rd week of February! Katyrose (that's our little girl) was five months on 2/17, so overall not too bad! Although, if you had asked me last week I would have told you it is way too long--so there is light at the end of the tunnel--all good things take time, right??

As soon as we get back, I'll post some pictures!!
