good credit card deal

I know many of you, like me, are scraping and saving to come up with the money for a Guatemala adoption. Even with my savings and steady income, I'm looking for more money. I’ve looked into several types of loans, both from my own bank and various other banks.

Yesterday, I got an offer in the mail from Capital One for a Platinum MasterCard with 4.9% APR (on everything - cash advances, balance transfer, etc) until April 2004 and 7.9% fixed APR after that. That’s by far the best deal I’ve seen since I started looking for adoption financing sources. Most of the loans I have investigated had least 10% interest, usually more. The Capital One offer has a credit line of up to $20,000 and there’s no fee for a cash advance. I think I’m going to apply and se how much they’ll give me.

I don’t know if this offer is available to everyone, but it’s sure worth checking out. Their web site if capitalone.come (of course).

Hope this helps someone,

hi,
just keep in mind that most likely the 7.9% would be on the balance of whatever you originally purchased, anything else you add onto would probably be higher apr. But either way you will continue to get other credit cards with 0% for a period of time that you can constantly switch to keep the interest rate down.
Trust me I know. I switch my credit cards all the time!!
But I was thinking the same thing regarding my savings for my adoption. I know we will have this much saved by this time but we wont have enough for when we are thinking we would need it, so a credit card would be great for all the same reasons you mentioned.
Anyway, good luck on your endeavor. Keep us updated.

This is the exact offer we are using to finance our adoption. We got the full credit line of $20,000 and they have already upped it to $21,000 without us asking. Just a word of caution, you can only get a cash advance for half of your credit line. What we did was charged our plane tickets, balance transferred other credit cards that we had the cash to pay off and charged all our Christmas shopping on this card. We then put the cash we had towards the adoption in addition to the half they would advance. We had to get creative to make this work. I do believe the 7.9% is on anything. The best part of this deal is no transaction fees for a cash advance or balance transfer.
