Home with Gracie

On Tuesday, we arrived home with our beautiful baby girl. She is almost 9 months old and the wait was torture! I'm posting today to tell you again, it is worth the wait. Early on in the process, our little girl became very sick. The process came to a stand still until some medical decisions could be reached. Guatemala adoption is full of waits, tears, headaches, pain and in the end FULL OF JOY! Yes, I missed out on Gracie's first 9 months of life but she spent it with a wonderful foster mom who taught her many things. (I did visit 3 times to see how she was doing) I have this wonderful foster mom to thank for providing exceptional care and love for this little girl. Yes, I missed out on 9 months but I've got the rest of my life to spend with this precious little human being. It is worth the wait, it really is! For those of you waiting, find a friend who is adopting through Guatemala and lean on each other. Lean on someone who knows what you are going through and wait together. I've met a wonderful friend (yes Kim P it is YOU....) over this board. We live not 40 miles from each other, have had lunch, cried together, laughed together, etc. Relatives are great too but nothing beats having someone who has "been there...done that" or someone who is in "as deep as you". God bless each and every one of you and here's hoping there are lots of Guatemalan babies home in time for Santa! Robin

Robin,

Congratulations...I have followed your story for a while, and I am so happy you have your sweet little one home. I couldn't agree with you more that it is worth every single moment of torture.

congratulations

Becky

Congratulations It is wonderful to have your little one home. Ohhhh how i wish it was that time again. Enjoy every minute I remember being in BLISS. Such a wonderful feeling to have our little ones home. I sit back now and try to remember what I did with my little one. How did I put him to bed? How he woke every morning? Please write everything down in a book to remember when you look back you will be amazed. So exciting

Robin,

I am very happy that you now have your little angel home. I also wanted to thank you for your little inspiration. It reminds me to keep my dreams alive, and soon my baby boy will be in my arms. I wish you and your little family all the happiness you deserve.

Thank you Robin!!! This is Kim P. Robin is right, it is much easier to go through adoption with a friend that has been there or is going through it at the same time. I know she really helped me out at the end of my adoption. You are a real asset, Robin.
