They have been involved with Guatemalan adoptions for quite a long period of time, they have a staff of only 4, they do not give frequent udates; in fact, you will get info for the referral, and then will go about two or three months (leaning more towards three) before you will be told anything. You will get about four months into the process before you will receive an update from the foster mother; yes the baby will see a doctor every 4-5 weeks---but you will not get that update, even if you ask for it(exception would be medical questions, like we have been through, and are going through). I have had a not so good experiece so far; a lot of it was not the doing of Small Miracles---but it is like pulling nails trying to get information. I received my referral about one week after my dossier was received.I was told that I could expect to travel in 6-7 months and I travel almost exactly 6 months after that when my daughter was 6 1/2 months old. She was very healthy and still is. The foster care that she received was outstanding. Developmentally she was rated higher than her age. I did have a snag in my case and they were more than forthcoming about what to expect and what the outcomes might be. Everything turned out just great.
