name questions

sounds indigeneous to me. the ending is like many maya names. the letters d,f,g,j,r,v aren't in the maya world, but i have never been able to find a dictionary or reference book to help much. if you come across one, please let us know about it.

Also, there are several dozen indigenous languages spoken in Guatemala and names of individuals vary greatly in different areas of the country. You might send an e-mail to the Proyecto Linguistico Francisco Marroquin in Antigua, which teaches Spanish and various Mayan languages - Quiche, Mam, Kekchi, etc. Ask them if they can advise you as to the origin of the name, and give them the full name as shown on a birth certificate.
