Finally Getting Around to Re-adoption
I finally called our County Clerk's office today to check out how much it costs to re-adopt. Turns out it is only $250! I really didn't have an excuse not to do it sooner other than I needed a break from all the paperwork!
 We don't even have a hearing in our State, so it's just the paperwork and the judge issues the adoption decree. Nice!So now that Kate has been home a year, I'm going to submit the paperwork next week. Then we can get a new birth certificate and apply for a U.S. passport for her! We are thinking about a trip back to GT next year!  Now if only I could get a little motivation to fill out the G-639 paperwork. Why do they make this so complicated? Anyone have any tips on filling gout that paperwork?

I haven't done any of Zack's post adoption paperwork...But Kelly B. has some paperwork that can help you do your G-639 I think she was just asking on FB if anyone needed it...You can PM her... Great that it wont be that much to do your. I'm glad hear in Mo we don't have to re-adopt.

Hey Kim!
We don't have to re-adopt here either, but I want Kate to have a U.S. issued Birth Certificate just for ease of things. That's why we are doing it, we need her name changed officially as well and can do that at the same time they issue the new birth certificate.

Kim, here in the Mo we just have to get ahold of Vital Records and ask for a new BC and with that comes a free one time name change... is that possible there?
