OT: Hearing today for unparented children in Americas
An FYI - if you google you can get a full report of the testimony. Recent reports indicate a continued dramatic decline in international adoption with regular annual decreases every year since 2004. Reports indicate a 27% decrease in Fiscal Year 2009 and project another 23% decrease in Fiscal Year 2010.
Harvard Law School's Child Advocacy Program and the Center for Adoption Policy have been granted a hearing before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights to present our concerns about this decrease, and our version of the key human rights issues presented by unparented children and International Adoption in the Americas. The hearing will be at 2:30 PM on Fri, Nov. 6 at the Organization of American States, Ruben Dario Room, GSB Building, 1889 F St. N.W., Washington, D.C.
