OT....What are teeth going for these days?

My "baby boy" lost his first tooth last night. TF came with a gold dollar coin. I have a stash of those and of two dollar bills I got from the bank which is what my son (sonS now, I guess ) get for a tooth.
My 9 year old told me that one of his friends gets TWENTY BUCKS a tooth!!!
I told him that it must be because he lives in a different zip code so there is a different fairy.
Just wondering what your kiddos get from TF?

Dang! $20? Hope they aren't in my zip code!

I am with MomofMikhail. First tooth or if it was pulled or something traumatic they get $5, or if I have something stashed I got on sale (Star Wars figure, video, etc.) in that same price range. $2 - $3 for all other regularly lost teeth.

Dang- Bug is going to want to be in your zip codes, cause he is not getting that much for his teeth- a quarter is still good in my books- maybe 50 cents by the time he start lossing them in another year or 2.

Love to you,

My DD who is seven just lost her first tooth. She is in first grade and had waited rather impatiently while all of her friends lost multiple teeth in kindergarten! So, when that day FINALLY came, the TF left a "tooth fairy" tshirt for her to wear to announce the event at school the following day to all of her friends, and yes, the first tooth was worth $5. All others will be $1, unless she has to have some pulled, which-unfortunately-may be an issue since big teeth seem to be coming in faster than little teeth are falling out!

Where did you find the tooth fairy shirt? DD would LOVE one! (That is, if she ever looses a tooth!)

the shirt idea is so adorable!

the tooth fairy does NOT leave 20 bucks a tooth here. lol. she either leaves a toothbrush, or 5 bucks for a new tooth brush. either way....it ends in a toothbrush. lol. for a 6 year old, that is still exciting.

For 20 bucks a tooth, my kids would be pulling all their teeth out at once. LOL!

The first tooth was a gold dollar coin and after that it's still a dollar but I've done all dimes, all quarters, dollar bill, mixture of all etc.

50 cents a tooth is the going rate in our house. I guess our TF is a cheapskate. However, Grandma usually sends 5 or ten bucks when a tooth is lost, so I think we're covered We usually buy a new toothbrush, toothpaste, floss.
