Post placement issue

Has anyone ever received a message like this from their adoption agency ?

we are continuing to receive requests from the
attorney for the case to provide additional documents showing that thebaby definitely left the country. Many of the attorneys are beingquestioned by the immigration regarding this and giving very short notice to provide the information. we received the request for the passport. This was presented and now isn't good enough.

Now they are requesting a scanned copy of the passport showing the stamps that the child left Guatemala and stamps that he entered the US.
The other request has been if they have a tickets still.

Our adoption was 18 months ago. It seems odd our agency would still be requesing this information. All of this was provided to them upon our return to the US.

Hmmm....that does seem odd. On one hand I think, what will it hurt to send the docs, but on the other hand I think it's just odd enough to stop and wonder just what is the downside? I don't know. I think I would place a call to the agency and have a discussion before I sent the docs.

gosh....i seem to remember people talking about this...maybe 6 months ago either here or on the guatadopt homepage. do some research before sending off those items. i seem to remember people saying not to send them.

edit to add; this one was more about coc and us passports, but it still strikes me as similiar, so you may want to look into it: Guatemala Adoption Information and News: Alert: Requests for Passport/COC - suspicious!!!

It sounds weird to me. Like you said, your child has been home 18 months. They have all the proof they need- a visa was issued. They can get that themselves. I'd worry about the information getting in the wrong hands. JMO.

Take a picture of your child in front of some sort of landmark or sign in your area which would distinctly incdicate somewhere outside guatemala. That sounds like it should be proof. Sure, photos can be altered, but so can images of passports, tickets, etc.
