Favorite Adoption Picture Books?

I was hoping that some of you could recommend your favorite adoption picture/story books. We have "A mother for Choco" and "We are different, we're the same", but I'd love to get a few more to read to our 2 1/2 year old. If you do make a recommendation, could you please tell me a little bit about the story line and why you like the book?

Thanks for your help
T.

I like "Over the Moon", it was written by a Guatemala AP and I also like "The greatest single mom in the world...the story of how I was adopted", because I am a single mom. Also "Families are Different" is a good book that shows not just adoptive families but all types of different families.

Over The Moon is a really beautiful one.

Now that DD is a wee bit older, we also read My Family Is Forever (it's really cute).

Also, The Colors Of Us is great....the author adopted a girl from Guatamala (the book is not really "adoption specific" but I like it).

I like Tell Me Again About The Night I Was Born (because it's more about a domestic infant adoption which is what we did).

A Mother For Choco and We Are Different are great. I swear We Are Different should be required reading for every person in America!!

Some great ones are already listed. I totally agree with both We are Different and The Colors of Us...Not adoption specific but really important points made in both. My ds really enjoys both of them.

An adoption related one I recently found is God Found Us You. It is, of course, a Christian based book. The author is Lisa Tawn Bergren. The story open up with a baby fox asking her mama fox to "tell me about the day I came home". Mama Fox recounts the story of praying, waiting, dreaming ,thinking about baby fox, waiting, waiting some more (We can all definitely relate to that part). I like the part where baby fox asks "did you ever want to give up?" and mama fox says..."sometimes but I trusted that God knew you and knew when we would fit perfectly together." It also talks about baby fox's birth mother as well and I think does a great job with that part as well even though she uses the words "give up" when I would prefer "adoption plan" but overall it is a great book with a Christian perspective which I like.

I ordered it from B&N.
