hey friends...baby name suggestions?

it has been a while since we had a good baby name list. no, i am not expecting an arrival any time soon. but we do plan on adding one more in the next year. and i need help.

i have looked on baby name sites...but i swear i have to sift through 27 bad names ( i swear they are made up...like abcde- pronounced absidee) to see 1 good name. lol. so hit me with your best shot. i want a girl, so i'm looking for girl names....but a boy could happen, so give me those too.

for girls i tend to like traditional names like caroline, kate, and emily. but also trendier (even unisex) ones like emerson and addison. for boys i tend to like trendy- logan and nolan. i also have been liking the sound of southern names for girls- 2 first names with 1 middle.

so? be my baby naming site. lol. what cool names have you heard out there? what name are you dying to use that i can steal bc you don't live by me so no one will ever know? lol.

DH always wanted to name a girl "Scout". He loved the girl, of the same name, in the book "To Kill a Mockingbird". Then Demi Moore and Bruce Willis named their daughter that and it soured us a little on the name.

The girls names that we never got to use are:
Emily Grace or Emma Katherine

I love traditional boy names: David, Michael but since two of my BIL are David and Mike, DH said NO to those rather quickly.

My favorite girl names are Sarah Isabel and Madelyn Grace. DS#1 was supposed to be Madelyn. And then he was a boy. Sarah was our first referral who passsed away, and I just couldn't 'reuse' her name. And our daughter Lauren just didn't look like a Madelyn so I never got to use it. Though one of DH's sisters had a daughter last year and named her Madelyn Grace so it did end up getting used in the family.

Oh My Goodness...we have way too much in common.

The name we have picked out for our new little one whenever she arrives is Emmersyn Juliette.

(we have to spell the first name in a weird way...our oldest two are Jayme and Kellye...and they both actually like having their names spelled in a way that is different)

I went back and forth about having Juliette as the first name...but I am so afraid of it being shortened to Julie and I just don't want that. Of course Emmersyn is likely to be shortened to Emmy...but not if I have anything to say about it

I love traditional names that stay with the chilid. But some last names as first names are cool too.

Caroline
Madeline
Victoria, Victorine,
Rose
Diana
Evelyn (Eve shorten)
Avery
Maeve, Maried, Shelia, Maura, Colleen, Colette
But one of my favorite names I could never use because it does not work with my last name:
Zoey (which means light)
Marissa, Marietta, Maren
Jayden, Jayleen, Johanna
Charlotte Rose or Charlotte Grace
sammantha, Nicole,
Jacklyn, Jacqueline,
Cherrie, Chantel,

Andrew, Adam,
Evan (Now I would use this for either boy or girl)
Brian or you could spell it Bryan
Thomas, James, Joseph, Paul, Peter
Bryce
Xavier (I always though this would make for some great initials)
Nicholas,
Daniel, Jordan, Connnell, Connor, Keiran, Kevin,

Now my girlfriend's step daughter had a boy and they named him Ashton (too femmine)

I will keep thinking,
Mary

I am traditional all around -- I personally don't like trendy names or names with unusual spellings so these may be too plain for your tastes:

Girls:
Ann Marie
Anna
Caroline

Boys:
Samuel Asher
Silas
Mateo
Daniel

what a fun post!

I have looked at baby name lists since I was a little girl. I love it! How fun!

My favorite girl names are:
Mirabel or Mirabelle, not sure which spelling I like best.
Natalie or Natalia
Isabel or Isabelle
Allison
(I realize that I'm partial to names with an /l/ sound!)

Boy names are fun, too:
Dante
Andre or Andres
Pavel
Eli
Anton
Ivan

Have fun!
Beverly

omg...how fun...i love them all. i love emma katherine....bc there is a member here who named her dd emma kate...and i love it and keep saying i will steal it. lol. i LOVE evan....i loved it for a boy...but now i hear people using it for a girl. which definitely makes me not want to use it for a boy at least.

i LOVE sarah! and lauren! and natalie!

devora....LOVE silas for a boy. when my 6 year old was an infant we were trying to name him, and we'd say names to him and gauge his reaction. silly, i know. but WHENEVER i said silas...he cried. lol. the first time i said the name we picked, he giggled. so i never got to use it, but i DO love it!

Hmmmm.....I love the names Addison Rose, Phoebe Elisabeth, Marley Kate, and Zoe Kristine.

Most likely, I will never get to use any of them!

Have fun with your name search!

Sofia
Melania
Isabella
Aviana

I also love two first names put together too, but more uncommon mix like Aviana Sofia.
