Hi Friends,

Adventure should be arriving at Debbie's house in Michigan shortly. From there he will travel to: Anna in CA, Samantha in OR, Judy in Kansas, Diane in MO, Michelle in Tenn, Kristie in WI, Joan in MD, and lastly Julie in NY before heading back to school with Jonathan for his geography project. If people wouldn't mind posting here when he arrives at your home that would be great. Jonathan likes to keep tabs on his bear and was concerned when Adventure was MIA for a while.

Thanks everyone again for helping with Jonathan's school project. The kids love learning about geography this way!!

What a wonderful way to make geography fun and real...wish someone would have thought of that when I was in school as it was one of my worst subjects because it was boring.

A story on our local news was about a gnome being 'stolen' and 'returned' with a journal/pictures of the gnome at different countries around the world. The lady who owned the gnome had never gotten to travel and was absolutely thrilled.

Adventure the bear arrived at our house today, so we are going to have to see what interesting things we can do with him this week!

Debbie....I will be sending you a list with his updated itinerary tomorrow via snail mail.

Have a great time with Adventure. We were just looking at Pretsel's journal and photo album this past weekend. You are our only repeat host family. Just remember......I am going to need you in 3 more years when it is Annie's turn to take part in this project. You can be a 3-peat host family!

Lauren and Daniel don't remember Pretsel visiting but thought it was quite exciting to have a bear arrive in the mail! Alec remembers Pretsel and thinks it is so cool to have Adventure come visit. We would love to be a three-peat host family!

A few year ago (3 maybe?) Diane's son had a class project where each of the students sent a bear off on a year long adventure visiting families around the world to learn about geography. The bear would spend a few days with a family and we would take pictures and journal about his visit. And then we mailed the bear on to the next family. And in the end he was a very well traveled bear. That bear's name was Pretsel.

Now her younger son is doing the same project and the bear's name is Adventure. And he arrived at our house today.

Hopefully that clears it up a little!

I got Adventure's updated itinerary yesterday, so my plan is to get him off in the mail today to the next family.

Dee.....I am so sorry that I must have missed your email. Adventure was missing for a few months and then I wasn't sure who wanted to still host him so I posted again. I really just must have missed your response. I am sorry!

He left for Portland, OR today. We'll miss him.
He goes to California after Oregon.

Priority Mail was exceeeeedingly expensive (or I am just cheap!) so he went Parcel Post and won't be there by the weekend. Hopefully by the first part of the week.
