I don't think there are many members who are still in process but if you are, I'd sure like to hear from you. After waiting for what seemed like forever for a PGN investigation and a hearing, we finally made it to August 10, our hearing date. The PGN did a complete investigation and found no problems with our case but the judge decided she wants another investigation. We found out Tuesday, the judge has also gone ahead and scheduled another hearing date for us.......JUNE 24, 2010! WHAT?????
Our case is not an abondonment, our birth mother was not able to be located for the second birth mother interview.

I am so sorry to hear about your case. I cannot imagine what you are going through with a court date that far away. This is cruel!
I am also waiting to get our daughter home. Her case was completed with PGN and she has received her new BC, but she was denied passport and now her case is with the Ministerio Publico for criminal investigation.

I do not know if this will help, but I am willing to give anything a try at this point. I think there should be pressure on the Guatemalan officials to process our cases in a more timely manner!

My heart breaks for the families still caught in this unbelievable process. I hope something can be done to get the Guatemalan govenment to speed up the process. No one deserves this, especially not the children caught in this mess.
