Just wondering how long it took...I just sent them in for my son and daughter last week and of course am already obsessing about the wait time.

Ours was mailed in January 2009 and we are still in the wait. I track it occasionally on the site, but I think we are still like 1800 out of 10s of thousands in Track 2.

I think this may be your G-639 your talking about. That is usually at Lee's Summit and does take about a year to return. The G-884 doesn't come with the number to track and shouldn't take long to receive.

I sent in both a G-884 and G-639 to Lee's Summit in mid-July. The G-884 packet was returned in about two weeks. A letter indicating the G-639 was being processed arrived about one week later.

We sent the G-884 to the Newark, NJ office in February. We received the COC there in January. We are STILL waiting! I tried unsuccessfully to call---can't seem to get a real person to speak to. The recordng said to send a letter. I did---got a reply back telling me that they are in receipt of our G-884. No word on how long it will take to process. We can make an appt. with Infopass for more information, but it doesn't say we will get the packet if we take a day off from work, drive into Newark, and meet with an Immigration Officer. Hopefully our letter will put them into action and we'll get it soon---otherwise I guess we contact our congressman for help.

Try sending an email to Buffalo with the specific information regarding your G-884: The office to which you sent it along with your childs A#, DOB, and full name.

They should be able to follow up for you.

USCIS has 6 months to act on the request - I received that tidbit when I was on the phone with Buffalo last month.

We got ours back. It only took 23 days. We received it August 17.

Mailed application on August 10th

Received packet in the mail September 4th - Certified Mail

Hi Everyone, just a quick update -

We recieved my son's in the mail on Friday - originally received in Lees Summit on the 14th, so it took about 3 weeks. Now just waiting for my daughter's!

Sorry, was away from the computer for awhile. I see you already got your son's back, but thought I'd post anyway. It was 23 days from the day I sent it. Looks like yours was about the same! I was disappointed that there wasn't more info in there I didn't know, but was glad to have it all the same. We did find out that his birth weight we were originally given was wrong. They told us he was 5lbs 12oz. The hospital document shows 6lbs. 4oz! Who knows?!?!
