Well, on June 23rd I got a call from the dr. and they told me the most wonderful news. Abby's 24 hour urine study came back all normal this time. I was so excited. They tell me that they think that these spells may be related to strep throat. They told me that if she had another spell to just bring her in and they would check her for strep. So, I was calling and telling everyone of the terrific news. I was shedding tears of joy. Because we had gone from thinking she was having seizures, to a tumor or even worse neuroblastoma. Praise the Lord the urine was normal this time and all labs were negative. This has been a really long road. I have never heard of kids having tremors with strep but oh well I thought we will see. So, fast forward 1 hour later. I was at work and the phone rings all I see on caller ID is University and I am thinking it was a telemarketer. I only wish it had been a telemarketer. It was UAB Hospital in Birmingham Alabama. My husband had been in a horrible accident. We are still here today. He was in Trauma Burn ICU for nearly 5 weeks. He was on life support for over 4 weeks. He broke his pelvis, 5 ribs, he broke 3 of his thoracic vertebre in his back also 3 in his lumbar. He fractured his sternum. One lung had colapsed, the other had a small cut in the bottom of it. He had to stay on life support for about 4 1/2 weeks. He has now had 4 surgeries. It was horrible. He moved to Rehab on Thursday. We are still here....I am so ready to have our normal life back. Abby didn't get to see him for 35 days. She kept asking if her daddy was dead. Oh it was so horrible. We have about 7 more weeks before he can bear any weight on his pelvis. He has been so sweet these past few days telling me that he sees me so differently. He talks about how much he had taken me for granted and he will not do that anymore.

The car had a blowout and he was going down the interstate when this happened and the car flipped in both directions. He can't talk about the accident without crying. I am so thankful that God spared his life.

OH MY GOSH! how awful! i am so sorry to hear this terrible story. and poor abby! it makes me cry to think of a little kid asking that question! i hope your dh continues to make great recovery...and that abby knows now he is ok.

I forgot to mention that about a week after the accident Abby had 2 more spells. I took her in and yep you guessed it. She had strep throat. So, maybe we found the answer.

Wow, I am so sorry to hear of your husband's accident, but praising God that he has come through. Best wishes for a full recovery for him. And I am glad you have some relatively positive news about Abby. Wishing you much peace in the near future!

Holy Moly! That was a good day and a bad day all rolled into one. Praise the Lord everyone is either okay or on their way to being okay.

We had a front tire blowout on the freeway and it was the scariest experience of my entire life. Neary flipped and I cried for hours afterwards because of the sheer terror of it. I can only imagine what your husband has endured. I'll say a prayer for your husband's continued recovery. ++

I'm so relieved to hear of Abby's diagnosis. I'm glad to hear that your husband is recovering, though it's a long road. Your family is in my prayers.

My husband was in a motorcycle accident in March and broke his hip. He wasn't nearly as injured as your husband, but it really makes you think of the things that are important. I'm glad to hear he's doing well and I'll pray for a speedy recovery.

Glad they've found the cause to Abby's shaking spells too, hope they put her on a strong enough antibiotic and LONG enough to wipe it out completely.

How awful for you all to be away from home while your husband recovers, but hope that soon he'll be fit enough to travel.

I was sitting here tonight feeling sorry for myself, we are going through some horrible financial issues right now because of the added cost of the adoption running on for over 2 years and me getting laid off from my job. I don't know what brought me to the forum tonight but after reading what you and your family has been through I realize how much worse things could be.

It will be a long road but we will survive and thankfully so will your family. Thanks for putting things in perspective for me tonight. I'll keep your family in my prayers.
