Home 2 years!!!!
Hi everyone,
I am really apologetic for not posting on a lot of your messages, but I read weekly. My prayers go out to those of you with health problems, and I celebrate those of you with new adoptees and babies on the way. I feel as though year two was much, much easier for us than year one. We did not have a smooth transition by any means, mostly in the area of sleep. (And so dd was often cranky during the day, so of course there was residual effect...)After conducting a thorough sleep study (overnight) for dd, we concluded that there were no underlying issues thankfully. I have a theory about how our particular issues came about. When we were in Guatemala, our foster mom did not want dd to suffer saying good-bye, so she put her to nap and then left forever. I truly believe that this was the worst possible decision for our dd, and that she still suffers from some sleep anxiety and issues. She headbangs herself to sleep and still cries out a lot for reassurance, 2 years later. Dd is perfect in our family in every way...Headstrong, bright, outgoing (after initial shyness is overcome), and totally passionate in all areas of life. Pretty much describes the rest of us, so it's funny how our personalities all fit together like a puzzle. Attached is a picture from last week-end. We were at a wedding. Take care everyone,

You picked her up just before we picked up our son. I think I remember when you went because we were getting so excited to leave around the same time! Year one was rough for us also. But this last year has been wonderful! Can't believe he'll be 3 in Sept.
