OT--Nail polish on carpet

How do I get it out? Red nailpolish on white carpet....Princessa gave herself a pedicure.
Also-How do I get butter-off the wall? Princessa wanted to spackle like her Papi this weekend, and used butter, now there is a grease stain.(off white wall)

Thanks!

The only thing I have found to get a grease spot off the wall is to clean it real good with a degreaser like Dawn detergent ...and then you will have to put the primer on and repaint...as for the carpet...I have finger nail polish in my daughters room on the carpet from when she was in middle school and she is 22 now......it doesnt go away unless you get new carpet...sorry

I've heard that you can use shaving cream or windex on fingernail polish. I haven't tried either, but I suppose you have nothing to lose. Good luck!

I've used nail polish remover on off white carpet. It faded the carpet but is much less noticeable then the nail polish was.

I have hard-wood floors so I haven't tried this on carpet. But GOO-GONE works wonders for me with various items; crayons, gum etc.

If the spot isn't huge on your carpet, you can cut a piece of carpet from the closet and use it for the spot you cut out with the polish on it.

Good luck.

I would try 100 % acetone and blot don't rub the spot.

I haven't used this on carpet, but I did use it on red nail polish on white pants and it worked!

i remember my mom cutting off the individual fibers that were effected...the carpet did look kind of sparse in that section...but it wasn't red. lol.

Learned this lesson the hard way too...my then two year old grabbed a not-quite-shut bottle of hot pink nail polish off my bedside table once and when I asked her to give it to me, she of course turned to run and it went flying against the wall, all over my bed and on the carpet. Thankfully it was the carpet behind my bed but nothing ever got it off the wall, sheets or carpet. (Although Magic Erasers came close to getting it off the wall until they started taking the paint with it) I lived with the reminder for 3 years (and now all nail polish is locked up, out of reach at ALL times!) and then we repainted and recarpeted before we sold the house. Sigh.

Thank you for your suggestions-I tried nailpolish remover & spray on spot remover--it faded-but another few treatments are needed too-now it's a pink color. I put the cat perch over it to hide it. The wall spot faded too with the dish detergent, but I will have to repaint it. Unexpected summer project-ugh.

Every time the phone rings--it's like a "naughty alarm"--she gets into everything.

What do you all do when you are on the phone to keep your little ones busy?
Thanks again!
