Nidia turned 4 today, in the USA...
For those of you who remember us, I wanted to let you know that Nidia turned 4 today and we got to celebrate her birthday in the US for the first time. We were blessed to have gone to Guatemala to spend her 1st and 3rd birthdays with her but you can imagine how long we prayed for the day when she'd be home, her home, our home, singing the "Happy Birthday" song and knowing we didn't have to give her back to anyone else.
We celebrated on Saturday with a BBQ & pool party with family and friends; and cut another cake today with my sister and her kids. Nidia had a blast each time she heard the song. In the 5+ months she's been home, she has seen me, DS and DH celebrate our birthdays and she would say, "me birthday, mommy?" and I'd have to say, no, but that soon it would be her day. So finally the day arrived and she was thrilled. Her brother, only 3.5 months older, seems to not comprehend how she, too, is 4 years old.  She's adjusting well, by the way. It's truly amazing how well attached she seems to be, especially to me. Sometimes, my own adjustment has been harder. Having 2 toddlers at once has its challenges, after all, but we know how blessed we are and we are so happy to have our children safe and at home. I can't wait until the 900 or so cases also have happy endings. Continuing to pray for all the others still waiting. Damaris

Damaris, that is a wonderful post. It was so wonderful to hear when Nidia came home and so great to hear about her first birthday with her family in the US. Glad she adjusting so well. Thanks for the update.

Never even filed 11/5-prior atty wants to "check" on us.Tells new atty he was never pd by agency! Agrees to give our file IF we release him of all liab  1/6/09-rec the real COA! Petition to be filed with CNA tomorrow! 2/10-'old' atty won't release our file...w/out PAYING a fee! So much for release of liability  2/16-Agree to pay file ransom 4/29-File FINALLY given to new atty 5/19-CNA officially approves us to begin adoption; accepts dossier NOW MORE HOOPS

Feb. 1, 2007 - this is really getting old!! 3rd visit trip Feb. 1-4th Feb. 21st and we still don't know what KO#2 is even for?!?!?!? Guess it wasn't a KO after all!!!!!! Feb. 22 OUT OF PGN!!!!!!!!
