Books For The Children Of Guatemala

Safe Homes for Children is a non-profit organization working in Guatemala. They have taken the small school in Los Robles under its wing because they barely have any books for the children to use. So I have agreed to help spearhead a book drive for them this year!!
You can purchase books especially for the children of Guatemala and they wil be shipped here free of charge and then shipped on to GUA via Medrano. OR You can choose to order for your family and this will still help the school earn free books!!! Once our total reaches $500 we will start earning 50% of free books for them. Just wanted to update you guys that we now have 37 books for the kids in Guatemala with two weeks left to go!! They have some really great deals on books for all ages, so if you haven't been able to check out the sight please take a minute to do so.

I feel strongly about children learning to read because it opens up many great opportunities for them!! You can always donate one in honor of someone and I'll put a label in the inside of the book cover with your message!! Thanks!!

Bumping for those who may not have seen this!! Also updating that we're now up to $146.33 in sales meaning we only need $353.67 more in orders until they begin to receive 50% in free books. Check out the site and you can see how many AWESOME books this can be for the children!! It's free shipping and then I have a donor who is paying for them to be shipped via Medrano to Guatemala so it's a great deal!!

Sorry if I sound like a dope, but do we order books for ourselves and the order applies to the Book drive or do we order books specifically for the book drive?

Mary, You can actually do either. You can order books and have them held and sent at the end of the book fair to the children of Guatemala (they have a great Spanish section). These books will go to the children and the total amount ordered will also help them to earn free books. If we can reach $500 in sales they will begin to earn 50% in free books!!! OR You can choose to order books for your family and pay to have them shipped to your home and your total purchase will go towards the total book fair earning them free books!!! So no matter what option you choose it's still a win win situation!! Thanks

We're up to $205.74 in orders so it's off to a good but slow start!! Only $294.26 to go to begin earning 50% in free books! I know we can do it!! The book drive ends on May 26th so we still have time!!

Thanks you guys!! Kathy I got an update from Jeannie that your orders were placed thanks a million!! We're now up to $276.92 in orders as of the ones she forwarded me today!! That means only $233.07 in orders are needed to being to earn them 50% in free books! That means once that much is ordered they're going to automatically earn $250 in free books plau all the amazing books that you guys have purchased for them!! YEAH!!

I really encourage everyone to participate, even if just one book. Wouldn't it be great if everyone at least purchased a book for every year their child has been home?

They have lots of Spanish titles that are under $5 plus tax! Since you don't pay any shipping if you are donating them it is a real bargain.
