When loving you means a 'whack' in the head!!!

Peeing on you changing a diaper...now that is FUN!

When he wants mommy in the middle of the night, at bathtime, at bedtime, anytime it means WORK, but DADDA is all he can say for the fun stuff!!!


I say all of this but then to hear this little guy say mommy or mamma (even if it is at 2am!) I melt. I wondered if I would still want a girl after Thomas coming home. But he is the biggest joy in my life!!!!

When you fall into the toilet in the middle of the night because not only do they have trouble at times figuring out the LIFT the lid, but also have trouble with the PUT THE LID DOWN! part.

You know you have a boy when he tells you he buried his nintendo ds outside but it's okay because the snow will keep it safe from robbers.

When they stink even after showering because they don't use soap.

When you get irritated and they simply say "mom, it's cool" and it really is.

When they do tricks on their bikes and scooters that make your heart literally jump.

And you know you have a boy when the funniest thing EVER is to make fart noises with every crook and nanny of their bodies. And you laugh too....

...every doll and toy your DD loves becomes a driver in said trucks.

...tables are no longer tables or "castles", they are forts, bear caves, and hide-outs.

...every pair of kid jeans has worn-out knees and you're on constant vigilance for ground-crawling when out-and-about.

I'm loving the boy-child world. I am completely flabbergasted at his need to explore the world on his hands and knees, though. DD learned to walk and almost never went around on her knees again. She'll be on them while she plays with dolls or legos or puzzles or whatever, but rarely crawling around. DS gets down to the ground as we walk across a parking lot just to check out a bug or cigarette butt (!) or rock. DD likes that stuff, too, but will crouch down to look at it. DS will lay on the ground from a distance, crawl over to it, laydown again, put his face on it....

1. When you find pee splatter marks on the floor around the toilet.
2. When you have 4-5 other boys in the house and your wondering where did you come from.
3. When your sitting outside and get smacked in the head with a basketball.
4. But mom it`s only 1am, theres no school.

When he unmistakably identifies a backhoe, giant front end loader, buldozer, paver, freight truck, cement mixer, concrete crusher, digger, tanker, train, firetruck used at the airports AND the regular firetruck.

You know you have a boy when you get a call from preschool letting you know that your son dropped drawers on the playground and peed next to the swings.

When you took your daughter to the playground you kept a watchful eye to make sure none of the big kids hurt her. But when you take your son to the playground you have to keep close by to make sure HE doesn't hurt any of the smaller kids (or the big ones sometimes too).

PS: I have had to shop in the "blue" section for 7 years so I'm enjoying the "pink" section a bit!!!!!

When you are constantly stepping on little plastic and metal objects (i.e. trains, hotwheel cars, airplanes, lego pieces);

When you find the hamster in a sock drawer that is completely is closed (courtesy of a trip there provided by your 3 year old);

When you buy 2 gallons of milk and three boxes of cereal and they are both gone within the week;

When your car is full of stinky cleats, dirty baseball hats, bats, balls and mits, basketballs, football pads and helmets-you get the picture;

When you always carry band aids and neosporin in your purse;

When you have the nearest Emergency Room on speedial;

When even you don't care anymore that they haven't taken a bath in almost a week;

When you have huge storage boxes filled with each and every card, craft, poem, picture, or project they proudly brought home to you

When you leave both boys unattended outside for a minute and they both end up knee deep in the water in the ditch.

When you go into a room to search for him, you first look "up" because he's likely to have stacked everything portable and climbed on top of some tall furniture in the 30 seconds since everything got quiet.

When you routinely check under his bed for decomposing food and dirty underwear.

When he runs around with a water bottle, holding it by his crotch and squirts water yelling "I'm peeing".
When he lies next to me at night, strokes my face and says "I love you Mama".
