Need another family movie to compete with Wizard of Oz

My kids are addicted to the Wizard of Oz. They ask to watch it every day. Now, of course I don't allow it every time they ask, but they do watch it about once a week. They have the CD which they listen to just about every day; they have several books with the story in it that they read and/or ask someone to read several times a week; they have a whole fantasy life going on as they switch from being Dorthy to Toto to the Lion, etc.

I love the movie, don't get me wrong. But enough is enough!

Are there any other great family movies out there that are engaging for 2-3 year olds AND that an adult can tolerate at least once a month?

That is so cute!

I was thinking of the two MamaS mentioned and also Mary Poppins was a classic favorite my kids liked. My kids all loved Stuart Little also.

Here are our 3 favorites:

1. Dumbo
2. Cars
3. Aristocats

I can tolerate them all, but I like The Aristocats best. The little kittens always say "Yes, Mama", and now my kids do too!

Lilo and Stitch is Anabel's all time favorite movie, and I have to say I love it as well. (I loved it even before I had a kid.) We've started quoting lines to each other at dinner and totally cracking each other up.

She also loves (and I enjoy) Mary Poppins and the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

We are stuck on Lilo and Stitch right now too. Mary Poppins was a favorite when they were younger. Other previous watch every chance they get infatuations have included Mulan, Little Mermaid 2 (not sure why but they prefer 2 to the original), Cars and Tinkerbell.

I like lady and the tramp (not sure you can tolerate that though) and 101 dalmations. I'll have to think about non-animated films a little more.

Very interesting that your kids are stuck....

on Wizard of Oz. I distinctly remember being under 6 and terrified of the flying monkeys & trying to hide behind chair in living room to get away from them! So I'm not going to let my little one watch Wizard of Oz until she's older....I guess I have some toddler fears to overcome during my time as a mom!!

Matthew was hooked on Wizard of Oz last year. I finally put it away because I couldn't take it anymore! We haven't watched it in over a year and I'm afraid to bring it out!! Current favorites are Ice Age 1 and 2, Madagascar 1 and 2, Chicken Little, and Bolt.

It is kind of funny the stages they go through...my oldest could watch Monsters Inc at 2 again and again with no problems...but at about 5 when we got it out again after a long hiatus---TERRIFIED! So I could see where little ones could watch Wizard of Oz without fear, but a 6 year old---never!
