Swine flu?

Anyone else worry about this?
Maybe because I am in San Diego, so close to Mexico, but its worrying me to send my boys to school tomorrow.

swine flu

I dont blame you especially living closer to the source. I am in MN and think about it as we know it will spread. I just think you have to do what you feel OK with... follow your gut. I dont think we can stop living but I do think you should stay in tune to what is happening and make your own decisions. My daughter was in preschool and was sick constantly. I took her out. I figured I was doing what worked for us. She will go next yr again but I am going to have some tests done on her. Many probably thought I was crazy but I didnt care it worked for me.
Best of luck to you.
Becky

All night they have been talking about the swine flu on the news. They even dedicated the entire "Nightline" show to this topic. I am wondering if this will be another case of media hype or if we all should realistically be worried. I wish I had an answer for you, Id just say go with your gut.

I think we all should be a little worried...

the next few days/weeks should tell what will happen. If you don't know about it, the 1918 flu was very devestating and deadly --- I've read lots of history about it & scientists say that every few yrs there is some kind of pandemic flu (but never that deadly since).

I must admit I am a little worried!! It is scary especially when you turn on the TV and it is literally all they are talking about!! I wish they knew more...guess we will have to wait and see what happens...hope it fizzles out!!

You bet! But I worry about anything. I started a thread last night called "the neurotic mother and the swine flu." Amy chimed in with much needed counsel and advice. (She's a pediatrician.)

I'm in Virginia--far from the swine action. But if you're in San Diego, I'd think that worry is warranted. (Remember though, I often worry that I worry too much.)
