Info about effects due to changes in adoption process

My college age son will be taking a summer class, Modern Latin American cultures, starting in May. He is working on a Spanish minor (last year he spent 6 weeks in Guatemala learning more Spanish). He would like to expand this class to meet a Honors requirement and thought he would like to write about how the adoption process has changed since the closing of adoptions to Americans and the affects this has had on the children of Guatemala. Any ideas where he can learn more about this? Anyone still in process, woking with the CNA or the new empathy study, etc, willing to email him? Anyone have a contact with any of the orphanages in Guatemala or still in process working with an agency that would have first hand knowledge of the situation with children born who now have no chance of adoption? He does need some prompt responses as he must present his idea by the end of April to his professor and get approval for the additional Honors requirement. He will be searching on this forum for info, the Guadadopt site, Mayan Families (as we sponsor a child) and contacting the agency we used (our adoption has been completed since Aug 2007), but still looking for other resources. Thank you everyone.

Cool

The coordinator for our 2nd adoption is a missionary and still lives/works in Guatemala. She might be able to help, as she sees the detriment every day as a direct result of the adoptions stopping.
Also fyi, the D.O.S. (U.S. Dept of State) told the Guatemalan authorities that the U.S. will not open to int'l adoption with them until all transition cases have been completed....and that is far from happening. I will pm you my email,
