Geezer Moms Roll Call
Inspired by another thread - how many moms on here will be 60 before the kids are allowed to buy alcohol?
I'm one . . . . Dads can participate too, if they want to . . . .

OMG!! I am ROFL!! I just realized after reading this thread that I will be 61 when my oldest DD can buy and almost 65 when my youngest can!! How funny!! At least I know I am not alone, but in good company!!!

Gotta say: I wouldn't have it any other way. I would have been a disaster of a mother if I became a mom in my 20s. I'm much more capable, together and with-it as a mom in my 40s. I look at twenty-somethings becoming moms and think they're nuts. (Not that they are nuts, it's just that I my 20s and 30s were filled with experiences and life lessons that were best learned on my own...)

OMG my dh just added up how old he will be and is freakin out. He will be able to draw soc. security before our son turns 21. lol. I am cracking up and he don't find it funny. He will 67 by then. I will only be in my fifties.

You know something.... I LOVE being a single, middle aged, first time mom.
On the topic of buying alcohol... friends of mine ask me to leave Liana with a babysitter from time to time so that we can go out for a drink. And you know what? I don't want to. Even in my 30's I had a restlessness. An urge to "go out." Now, there is nothing I look forward to more than a trip to the zoo or the Hall of Science or the Museum of Natural History on a Saturday. And we are both in our jammies by 7:30 on a Saturday night.

My oldest will be 7 in August and I am now 50, so yes I will be a granny mom. They keep us young. I too look forward to Saturday night with my boys.
