where to find good non-white baby dolls.
seriously. thanks target for row after row of white baby dolls. but when i decide my son needs a baby doll, i'd like some more options than white, white, and whiter. where have you found dolls that are more representative of our children and their beautiful skin tones? i don't want it to walk or talk or anything, he'd freak out. he is just in LOVE with baby dolls and he needs his own. help!

OR American Girl Doll has dolls (baby dolls and regular American Girl Dolls) with all different skin tones, eye color, hair, etc. A bit pricey though.

Hope I can post the link! I originally ordered the little girl doll for my daughter but ended up liking it so much we bought all of them and my son loves the abuello doll! He's not that drak skinned, but they sing traditional spanish nursery rhymes. We have been very happy with all of them!

If you live in an area where there are communities of different ethnic groups, you can go to a Dollar store or something similar and find them. Fred's, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, etc carry a good assortment and they don't cost too much.

I love the dollslikeme site, too. I found a very cute brown-skinned cloth doll at Walmart, believe it or not! They don't have a wide selection of non-white dolls, but when I was fortunate to have found this one. I had already bought it by the time I stumbled upon the dollslikeme site.

Multicultural and Hispanic Dolls. Mexican Dolls, Spanish dolls, Latin dolls, Latina dolls,
we've gotten a few from here. they are GREAT, and a family company, which i way prefer over wallmart. among others, we got the anatomically correct, medium color (hispanic) doll that comes with his own diaper and potty. Hispanic Potty Training Doll - Boy

Dept stores - KMart, WalMart, Target - stock to their demographics.
My local Kmart is in a much more diverse area than my WalMart and Target, although they are only about 5 miles apart. I bought an awesome Cabbage Patch doll that looked just like my son for him. My son is Roma with beautiful tan skin and silky dark hair. So did the doll. And when I bought it, my son was missing a couple of teeth and so is his doll. I bought it at K-Mart. You can actually custom order Cabbage Patch dolls online somewhere.
