Celebrating two years since Sabrina was placed in my arms forever!!!
Today I’m celebrating two years since I traveled to Antigua to foster Sabrina, and she was placed in my arms forever. At the time, we had visited our sweet girl three times and fallen head over heals in love with her. We had been in PGN for over nine months, with no end in sight. I had an ulcer I named “Barrios”, and had regular conversations with, a desk drawer stocked with antacids, and was an anxiety filled insomniac that paced our house for hours every night sobbing. DH was researching “spas” for me to have a little vacation at. And talking about the boys in the white coats coming for me. If you know what I mean.
 And when we made the decision to go for broke and I got on that plane to go foster, I had never felt more terrified, and exhilarated at the same time. I will never forget that feeling. This forum got me through it all. And I want you to know you mean the world to me. And I will never forget you guys!  Here are pictures of Sabrina and me at the ruins of Santo Domingo after I arrived in Antigua. And a few pictures I took over the past few weeks of my sweet girl today. I can’t believe how much she has grown, and everything we have been through together. What a journey it has been. And I cherish every minute.  Best wishes to all still involved in this crazy process. Praying your children are in your arms forever very soon!

wow, it really has been 2 years? i remember meeting you in antigua and thinking how seasoned and calm you were.

Laura-WOW!!! 2 years already-the time has just flown by!!! I remember when you left to foster and I remember checking the boards for any news from you. Sabrina was such a little peanut who needed her Mommy and you were right there for her. You are a very strong and brave woman!!! Sabrina is so beautiful and her eyes just sparkle when she smiles. HAPPY 2 YEAR FAMILY-VERSARY!!!!

Congratulations, Laura! I can't believe it's been 2 years already.
I remember that time well as we were still stuck in PGN also. I remember how much happier you were once you were in Antigua (although I know you missed DH) with Miss Sabrina. Sabrina looks so happy - wishing all of you a lifetime of joy. BTW - she and Ana could still pass as sisters!

Laura, I remember checking your blog and waiting impatiently for your OUT. I also remember how eloquently you discussed the attachment challenges you had when you came home. I can't believe 2 years have past. What a wonderful daughter and a wonderful family you have! Many congratulations on this special day!
