OT: I am quitting my job today

After many thoughts, talks with my hubby, mixed feelings and prayers, I have come to the conclusion that I just don't want to keep working and sending Carlos to the sitter. I thought that it was good for him to be with other kids, I thought that it was good for me to work, and feel like I was contributing financially. After weeks of being frustrated because I just can't do housework and work work, all it took was one "I mich you Momma"
It was all over, and yes it did make me cry. So I am going back to my favorite occupation, MOM

For those of us blessed enough to stay home, be thankful and know that we are so very lucky.

For all the mommies and daddies who are able to make the two worlds balance, you have my upmost respect and admiration.

Congrats to you and have fun. I feel like I live the best of both worlds - I work 24 hours/week and home with the kiddos the rest of the time. My housework still doesn't get done, but I tread water with it. Enjoy your time at home.

YOU have my upmost respect and admiration!!! I lost my job so was "forced" to try the stay-at-home role. I was really not happy...and my little guy wasn't either...she kept talking about "school" and everytime we would drive by it he would get upset. When I found another job and took him back he was so happy!!! For me the key has been not having to leave him TOO long everyday and also DH is pitching in more to give me time to get house stuff done (and it is good for DH and Thomas!).
My hat is off to you - and CONGRATS for finding and doing what is best for your family!

I envy you....and, if you will be happier then so will Carlos.

I worked part-time (for 1 1/2 years) until January this year and it was wonderful to be able to spend the afternoons with the girls and still have them get the social interaction in the morning. Now that I am full-time at work, I miss them soooo much. We just couldn't afford for me to stay home any longer.

So, congratulations to you - I hope the two of you have a wonderful time together.

Congrats, Tish. I have been home with DS for a year, now and know that was the best move for our family. Yes, DS needs some social interaction, so we go to art class & music class & I joined a MOMS Club. I find life to be far less stressfull and more enjoyable. Sure, money is tight, but well worth it. We're off to the zoo now to enjoy some unseasonably warm weather before the next snow comes. Enjoy your new life and family!!

Congrats on being able to stay home with the baby. I do not always get my housework done because I choose to spend extra time with my son. But in the end, all that matters is that he is well taken care of! the laundry can wait.

Enjoy!!!!

Heart

That's great! There's nothing I love more than staying at home with my son.

Congratulations on making that work. There are some days I wish I could stay home with Kate full time, but I only have to work 4 days/week. So, its not too bad. Enjoy your time with Carlos!

Well, I'm a full time working Mom here and I want to say how envious I am of your time at home with your child. My husband gets to our daughter home after he finishes his work and he gets to feed her supper and give her a bath and get her ready for bed. I miss all those things and I wish I didn't but, this is just the way things worked out! I spend as much time as I can with her on my days off and on weekends and I treasure each moment with her! God blesses all Moms and He knows how we longed for these children! I'm happy for you! You are truly blessed!

Congrats. I guess I'm somewhere in the middle. Can't afford to stay home but haven't find that balance yet of fulltime work with two kids

Congratulations Tish! As a single mom I don't have that option but I loved, loved being home with DS for 2 1/2 weeks after he had his tonsils and adenoids removed. I'm looking forward to taking some vacation time - vs saving it for a rainy day. DS has a short day at daycare on Fridays so we enjoy our breakfast, playtime together then he's off to school for circle time, lunch and nap and after gym time I pick him up and the rest of the weekend it is just the two of us - doing whatever we want. And I love it. Kudos to you for being able to make it work.
