Toddler carrier recommendations....asap!!!
I am sitting here typing this with my toddler glued to me. My in-laws are coming from out of state and I can't get anything done. Cleaning, laundry, nothing.....If I set him down he screams. What is a good carrier that I can wear him on my back with? He is about 25 pounds and it is killing me carrying him around all day. If I am going to invest in one I want one that works really good! Thanks.

Have a Ball Baby| Have a Ball Baby
omg...i'm in love with mine...my 16 month old is super big...and when i tie him on my back, i forget he's there. i love it more than any of the others i've tried bc it ties to your body. it is very comfy and supportive...and he loves it. if you type in the code SURPRISE you will get 30 % off. it is my favorite baby/toddler item. it does take a few times to learn how to tie while supporting the baby on your back, but i just did it in the mirror and got the hang of it really quickly. |

I have an Ergo and love it. My daughter is 3 yrs. old, 34 lbs. and disabled (cannot walk). I am a small person and the carrier makes it easy for me to carry her in it.
It can be used as a front or back carrier. It's $105 and shipping is free; also comes with an instructional DVD. I bought it from this person: Happy Mama Essentials - Organic and Wild-Grown Essential Oil Products for Mamas and Babies. |

I LOVE my Ergo!!! both my 2 and 3 year olds still love it. My big boy is 40" tall and almost 40#, and I can still carry him on my back without difficulty. (Yup, most of the time he walks, but, there are those times where it is just a whole lot easier to know exactly where he is, and what's within his reach

Ergo! One of our favorite baby items. We don't use it as much anymore but our ds does enjoy riding in the back and is very useful in certain situations (especially airports!). It goes up to like 50 pounds or something.

ok - here is my serious but vain question ... I LOVE the ergo also - have had it since second visit trip - DD also LOVES it - front carry only - she is now 24lbs and honestly that is too heavy for front carry for me for more than 2 hours - back carry she is less than content (maybe my fault as I have only ever front carried her) AND very importantly I am a lady with larger (ahem) 'lady' assets up front - so the ergo straps in the back carry position make me look like Dolly Parton magnified ..... and that is more than my little ego can cope with (as well as passing traffic!) so if anyone can recc a toddler carrier for the back position for a lady with big you know whats ... i would be very grateful!!!

rofl!!!! ok, i love my ball baby, i posted the link above, if you click it, scroll down and find the baby in overalls on his mom's back in the lime green carrier, that is how i do the back tie to avoid the dolly parton look. i just take the straps, pull them over my shoulder, then wrap them around baby a and tie. i have a harder time tying them like the rest of the littler ladies on that page bc when i do the straps that way, i tend to feel like some kind of toga wearing warrior...whatever...it isn't appropriate. lol!
when i was researching a carrier, i was thinking ergo, and i chose this one instead because i thought it was a little cuter and a little cheaper. lol. so i'm a little vain, and a little bit of a tight wad. but i'm really happy with my choice. ![]() |

ok - thanks for the link Eli's Mommy
i went ahead and bought a hippychick hip seat as I am wanting a way to carry DD around town, with quick up and quick down facility! she is idependent but tires easily - it was not too expensive and am hoping it will be good for travelling too! hope to get it in a few days and not resemble Ms Parton anymore!!!MK |
