I am going to be obnoxious and push it a little more. What crossover vehicle did you try? My husband is 6'4" and 230 lbs and fits fine in both the driver and passenger seats of my Flex. Even with a child in a car seat behind him.

I'll stop pushing the issue now!

Bought a Toyota 18 months ago

It was a used 2006 Sienna and I didn't pay nearly that much for it, but it wasn't the LE. But, here's a news flash - did you know they can easily change the seats to leather? That is what I did. I bought a used model, had them change the seats from cloth to leather and add a DVD player. Total cost $2,000. Nobody had ever mentioned that option to me before. What is really neat is that I did not want to pay for all of the other bells and whistles that come with the higher priced models, just the leather seats, so I got the cheaper model and added just the leather seats. Something you might want to consider.

Another "I swore I never would and now I do" mini van driver here. We bought the Toyota Sienna and I honestly love the thing (although there are days when I wish I was still driving my "cool" sports sedan..sigh). Ours is fully loaded with leather and pretty much everything else, but we did buy it used. It was a lease turn in and looked brand new and we haven't had any problems with it (I've had it for almost 2 years now). It is a 2005, and had 36k miles on it, we bought if for a little over 18K I believe and at that time it was about 2k less than what the blue book said it was worth. It also had brand new tires on it. It's been great and I would never hesitate to buy the exact same thing again. I know that car values have gone down, check the blue book price on what the older couple is asking, but it doesn't sound too bad to me.

Well, the man took our bid of $20,000 and we will get it when we get back from disney next week.

The xover we tried was a Saturn and my husband swears if I had a thigh reduction I would be fine. LOL

LOL! Got to count on husbands to give you their full, unedited opinion!

Glad you were able to get a deal!

I work for a computer company that had a fleet of Chrystler mini-vans and they were nothing but trouble. I think we replaced the transmission in every one of them before 100K miles.

Since then we have steadily replaced each van with Kia Sedonas. We now have four of those vans in our fleet - two '05 and two '07 models and they have been very dependable. You might want to give them a look!

Town and Country all the way

Not only is the Town and Country less expensive as you can get some great deals right now. Got mine fully loaded with DVD playes, satelliete radio brand new with 11 miles on it for 15,500 and I swear that was there first offer but I was tired and didn't agrue as I did tons of research on this and knew it was a great price orginally was over 29,000 dollars. I love it and runs nice gets 17 - 21 miles per gallon depending on where and how I drive tons of space for the kids. They can watch two different moveis and I can listen to my radio. It has the very easy stow and go seats and swivels. If I had to get a mini-van this was the one. I love it!! Good luck
