Still in process , post here !
I'm just curious , 14 months after adoption have closed in Guatemala , who is still in process , how long and what stage ?
I'll start ......................... 3 years 8 months in process . We are now waiting on Guatemala City birth certificate .

Bio daughter 5~17~1990 Signed with agency 1~2002 Smooth adoption~ Hayle Home forever 3~26~2003 Found Loida on photolisting 6~2005 Signed W/ agency 7~26~2005 Paper ready 10~27~2005 Loida's 4th birthday , 11~6~05 Told we were submitted for PA 12~5~2005 2~7~06 opps! agency told us , not submitted for preapproval when Loida's abandonment decree was signed 4~11~2005, they never took the next step to have a birthcertificate issued. Never given an explanation for this "miscomunication" Hired outside attorney group 2~10~06 B.C. issued and compleate by 3~23~2006 told we need a new POA 4~3~2006 3rd POA got to Guatemala 5~15~06 Told we need to send another Marriage certificate 5~22~06 Entered Family Court 6~19~06 Interview 6~27~06 P.A. 7~10~06 Social report done 7~11~06 Waiting on 1 more document so we can enter PGN Oct 16th to 30th 2006 WONDERFUL visit Let our precious Loida come home Lord! signed out of minors June 24 2008 out of PGN Oct 16 2008. HOME May~2~2009 .

Family Court Jan 17 '08 ( gotcha day #3, we are fostering since '05) Filed for PA Dec 18 '07 Received PA Feb 18 '08 PGN Feb 29 '08: Kicked out 4/8 Back in PGN 6/4 kicked out 7/22 back in 7/30 OUT! 8/20  embassy 1/12/09 DOB Feb 24 '04accepted referral March '04 while on visit trip w/ DS #1 ( same agency, we were Naive  )Started fostering Jan '05 Aug '05 found out DS #2 adoption was never started. Lawyer promised to reform, got through family court, birth mom disappeared and more lies... Lawyer fired and new one hired. Abandonment granted Jan 30 '08.  Received abandonment decree March 18 '08 Praise the Lord!Oct '09 Adoption approved by family court!   DOB Jan 2 '06 in our arms Jan 3 '06Adoption complete April '07

Mommy to C&C  Still praying...for 1 more 10/17/07-Found you 10/22-It's official 11/12-rec COA 12/21-entire dossier rec'd by atty 12/22-subm for PA 1/23/08-agency says case in "grave jeopardy" 2/12-rec PA 2/15-FLOP-WHY 8/6-begged agency for atty to establish case w/CNA 8/13-agency says 'not likely' b/c we didn't VISIT ...new atty=new hope 10/13-new atty talks to CNA->We qualify for regularization 10/21-Confirmed COA from agency is not a COA. Never even filed 11/5-prior atty wants to "check" on us.Tells new atty he was never pd by agency! Agrees to give our file IF we release him of all liab 1/6/09-rec the real COA! Petition to be filed with CNA tomorrow! 2/10-'old' atty won't release our file...w/out PAYING a fee! So much for release of liability  2/16-Agree to pay file ransom 4/29-File FINALLY given to new atty 5/19-CNA officially approves us to begin adoption; accepts dossier NOW MORE HOOPS

We're still here too. A judge will decide in June whether our daughter is adoptable. If so, our case will go to the CNA and they will determine if we are the right family for her. Meanwhile, we're planning for our FIRST visit trip next month!
2/26/07 - Sent application to agency 2/28/07 - Started home study update 3/19/07 - FBI prints taken 3/29/07 - USCIS prints taken 4/10/07 - FBI print clearance 4/26/07 - Received referral photos of Olivia via e-mail (DOB 11/15/05) 5/7/07 - Accepted referral 5/9/07 - Home study completed 5/31/07 - I-171H approval. Officially "paper ready"! 6/25/07 - New attorney means 2nd POA 7/19/07 - 2nd POA gets to Guatemala 8/??/07 - DNA supposed to take place...birthmother doesn't show 8/27/07 - 2nd attempt at DNA...birthmom doesn't show again! 9/20/07 - 3rd attempt at DNA...same story, birthmom doesn't show  BIRTH MOTHER HAS DISAPPEARED 11/15/07 - Little Olivia's 2nd birthday  12/9/07 - We inform agency that we'd like to pursue an Abandonment Decree 12/15/07 - Agency agrees, needs to confer with Guat. attorneys 12/17/07 - After conferring, we are advised not to pursue AD, due to process changeover 2/8/08 - Agency has hired a private investigator to search for birthmom............................... 3/3/08 - Received confirmation of CNA registration 3/08 - Assigned a new attorney who will plead our case for abandonment. 4/08 - Private investigator comes to a dead end in finding birthmom 5/23/08 - Renewed USCIS fingerprints 6/11/08 - I-171H approval...again. 7/9/08 - Home study agency says we need to update our home study 8/14/08 - Assigned to our 4th attorney who will plead our case for abandonment. 10/24/08 - Homestudy update complete 10/27/08 - Request USCIS for I-600A extension 11/9/08 - Completed the 10 hour course of required Adoption Training Education 11/15/08 - Olivia's 3rd birthday 1/13/09 - Attorney meets with CNA for approval to present to Court 2/4/09 - Former atty. receives summons from CNA that he has to present Olivia in front of a judge within 48 hours! (We also find out she has the chicken pox!) 2/6/09 - Olivia is taken to Court, chicken pox and all! Judge allows her to remain with her FF, but calls for one more search for Bmom. Next Court date in June to determine Olivia's adoptability. We're given the go-ahead to finally be able to go to Guatemala and meet our little girl!

Still here... 1 1/2 yrs. Case most likely to go through penal court system. Looking at another year with possiblity of adoption annulled. We were so close! Bio sister has been home for 5 months.

4/9 adoption agency 6/21 referral 7/16 POA done 10/12 DNA approval & done 10/19 DNA match 12/3 received I 72: roadblock: In PGN no date 11/18 1st KO PGN: 11/29 Back In 12/15/07 2nd KO PGN::: 2/8/08 1st visit 2/12 registered with CA3/08 new POA done, new lawyer 3/29 2nd visit trip 4/10 PA finally received 4/21 into Family Court (never done) 5/20 out of Family Court 5/22 3rd visit trip for 1st birthday 7/9 Finally resubmitted to PGN 7/22 birthmom interview-no problems 8/12 3rd KO from PGN problem w/ original BC 8/22-8/26 4th trip to visit 11/3-11/7 5th trip to visit and get more info on case 2/8-2/14/09 6th trip. He's getting so big 3/2 Back into PGN 3/25 OUT of PGN. Thank God 5/28 Received BC from Sayachen, Peten 6/22 Pink received 7/1 Embassy appointment 7/2 Visa 7/3 On plane back to USA
