OT 4yr old pary favor ideas

This is usually a great place to get some ideas.. I am making my daughters 4th birthday party and am looking for some ideas for party favors. There will be both boys and girls at the party. I invited her class at school so there could be about 20 kids. I am looking for something that won't cost me a fortune. The party goods theme is Tinkerbell. The entertainment will be "Critter Caravan" where they bring in small animals for the kids to learn about and pet/hold some of them. I have been to other parties with them before and the kids have a great time.

Thanks,
Lisa

You might try small packages of play dough, bubbles, frisbees, super balls, individual sticks of sidewalk chalk wrapped in tissue paper and ribbon. Packages of fruit snacks or fruit roll ups. You could check out Oriental Trading to see what deals they have. You can usually get large quantities of things for relatively cheap and they have a huge assortment. Good luck! Renee

It's close to Easter, so you could do "Fairy Eggs" -- those plastic Easter eggs rolled in glue and dipped in glitter, then filled with "fairy color sticks" (crayons), "fairy bubbles" or stickers. You could use different colors for boys and girls if you wanted too. Or, you could have a "fairy egg hunt" where each child found ONE egg in your yard, just before the party was over.
(If you do that, make a few extras in case some are not found. Voice of experience.)

Hi Lisa,

I have no great ideas...I am struggling here with Annie's party which is at the end of the month but I wanted to say how time flies. I can't believe Kaila is turning 4 already. Wow!

Happy Birthday Kaila!

Diane

Party favors

I love when we get books as opposed to "stuff". Usually, children's book orders (if your in school) have inexpensive books that are cheaper than buying a variety of other "things".

Pixy dust is always a special treat for the girls!! You can buy the pixy sticks from Wal-Mart! My girls are HUGE Tinkerbell fans and they always say they want Pixie Dust!! LOL!

Once we gave out small boxed puzzles. They were cheaper than goody bags.

FYI - worst party favor ever - we once gave out large Hershey candy bars. Between the mess and the hyperactivity, you can imagine how taht went over.

If you are planning to buy anything from Oriental Trading Company - go to Coupon codes and discounts for 20,000 online stores! RetailMeNot.com first and get a coupon code.

I bought a bunch of Pirate stuff for Jacob's 7th b-day party and was able to use one of their codes and got $20 off!!

I am a bargain shopper and was able to get Pirate bags, swords, pirate "guitars", dog tags, finger puppets, pirate hats, eye patches for 24 kids for about $80 - including shipping. I thought that was pretty good!

I have done many different things:
1. Books....just an age appropriate book. One for each child. I put them in a big basket and the kids can each chose a book as they leave. I put a bow around each one with a tag that says "Thanks for coming to my party. Love, Luca"

2. Give each child a coloring book and a pack of crayons.

3. Make a "Candy Bar". This was especially a HUGE hit at my daughter's Surprise 16th. I picked several different types of candy..m-n-ms, starbursts, licorice, skittles, swedish fish....and put each different candy in a big glass vase. The vases were all different shapes and sizes and there were about 8 total. Put out small bags and put a scoop in each vase. Each guest can scoop out what they want and make their own goody bag to take home.

4. For a Safari party that I had for Luca once, I bought each child one of those "tubes" of plastic animals.

5. Make a cd for each guest. This can be for any age. Put all of your childs favorite songs on it and have the birthday child design a cover. Make copies of the cover and slide it in the disc cover and it looks so cute!

Good luck...I'll keep thinking....these are just a few of thie things that I've done over the years....
