Older children adoption
My husband and I have agreed to adopt a 10year old from Guatemala who is a disruption. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks |

You might (in fact I would highly recommend) want to cross-post this on the Special Needs forum. There are many people there experienced with older child adoption as well as disruption situations who can give you additional advice
Good luck!

no disruption experience....but i have adopted an older girl, from US foster care, that came from a very rocky background. we have lived through lots of behaviors....i agree about posting on the special needs board. if you have any questions about basic things about adopting an older child, please feel free to pm me. my dd was 8 when she moved in with us, 10 when she was adopted. it has not always been pretty....older child adoption is difficult, but completely doable. congratulations. it's a girl!
