No, as much as I would have liked to have a bigger family I think we are done. I think at this point, for us, we need to really consider our age and the fact we would still want a younger child. We hesitated with this adoption when considering our age and sometimes feel we might have been a little selfish. I do wish we could go back 5 or 10 years and be where we are now though.

Praying for all those in process to come home soon.
For all those children waiting for families may the doors open soon.

Yes - I would love to adopt from Guatemala again and in fact would be willing to be one of the early PAPs in the new system, but even with that it is so unlikely to happen in time for us. I have a parent age cutoff after which I am uncomfortable bringing a new young child into our family (ie I feel strongly that our family will be finished when DH and I, who are the same age, hit this age), and there are only 2 years left on the clock

I very much want to see the program open again, but I doubt we would pursue another adoption. I'm pretty certain we're done.

We just submitted our dossier for Colombia last week. We would love to adopt from Guatemala again, that's where our hearts are. Colombia has a 3 year wait so we can wait to see what happens with Guatemala while we are already waiting for a referral from Colombia (who is a model in the international adoption world).

The emotional part of me says "YES!!" The realistic part of me says "No!"

Overall, we had a great adoption experience from Guatemala, but our hearts have been pulled to Ethiopia and we'll complete our adoption journey there.

I do hope Guat adoptions open soon and the process is better. There are just too many children that need to find their forever families.

A big old huge Texas heck YES!!! Especially if it was within the next year - I have researched so many other programs in Central America and South America and I can't find one that I am comfortable with...

No. If I were to adopt again (which is unlikely since I'm 47), it would be a domestic one.

The Guatemalan process was so stressful that I feel like it cut off about 10 years of my life. Plus, it is so expensive.

I did get a beautiful, funny and bright child out of the process though!

No. We will be done when no. 5 is born in a few weeks. We will be out of room in our house and our resources are tapped right now.

Now, if we could swing a little bit bigger house and money were not so tight, then who knows? But as of now it looks like our family will be complete, and I am PLENTY busy!

We're starting an adoption from Ethiopia later this year. We would love to adopt from Guatemala again, but Ethiopia is calling...

I'm still torn. I love Kate so much and would love for her to have a sibling one day. I would love for her sibling to be Guatemalan, but honestly don't know if I could handle the stress of another adoption from GT. We will wait it out a bit and see what happens. We also would have to save up quite a bit again. For now we are happy and blessed that Kate is finally home after 16 months of waiting for her and a 3 year adoption process.

We're not sure if we will adopt again. I would love for Guatemala to reopen and for the process to be sensible and reliable with realistic timeframes and we would probably jump at the chance. We're just not sure if our family is complete at this point or not. So....who knows....we may we may not, but if we do and if Guatemala is open we will probably stay with Guatemala as we love the country.

We think we are done with one..our precious little Ava. I do wish that Guatemala would open again for adoptions so that all of those children could be with families. I also hope that the process is transparent, afforadable and easier on the Moms and the PAPS.
