okay, one last question I hope before I mail this thing off for good..

1) on the G-884 when it says proof of US citizenship, does that apply to our DD, because we did the readoption, we don't have her bc from the state yet, so not sure if we need anything for this????

2) on birth certificate, did you mail your child's original Guatemalan bc, it's the only one we have, do they mail it back, or can you send a copy, it says certified bc from country of birth, so it sounds like I have to send the original??

I am confused about where you are seeing you need proof of US citizenship. If you are talking about on the form where it asks about the COC and/or Certificate of Naturalization just put N/A in those boxes.

You need to include two forms of ID for your child - there is a list on the second page of the instructions, but basically your only options are the Green Card and Guat passport - and proof of your relationship to her for which a copy of the Guat BC is fine. Some people are asked for ID for themselves as well so it wouldn't hurt to toss in a copy of your passport and DL.

edited to add: Are you talking about the N600 (application for COC) not the G884 possibly? Those questions sound more like that form.

Oh goodness all these forms, yes Debbie, sorry I meant the N-600, not the G-884...I am sending in the N-600 this week and I am confused when it says birth certificate, I have my DD original one we got from Renap, but it's the only one I have with our names as parents from Guatemala, do they want this one, and if so, do they send it back, it's the only one I have, or can you send a copy, also, do I also need to send her bc from when she was borne with her birthmother's name on it also??

and is says proof of citizenship??? well, I am sending a copy of her permanent resident card, that is okay, right...everything else is self explanatory, but these are confusing, hope someone can help...
