Do you remember the first time...
Do you remember the first time your child told you he loved you? My ds is 33months old and he just told me in English "I was you" (AKA "I love you"). How sweet!! I thought I was going to melt. He has been saying "Te quiero mucho" a little which just melted my heart. Then our 18 month old dd said "I love you" but it sounded more like e-i-o like from Old MacDonald but I knew what she was saying. I just thought it was ADORABLE!
I have dreamed of the days after years of wanting children to hear those words and the days are here!!

DD would repeat it back to us from a very young age, but her first spontaneous "I love you" came around 27 months. She was riding on my shoulders around an antiques fair and she reached around my head, hugged me, and said it. Awesome.
DS repeats "I love you" and "Amo!" but doesn't say it spontaneously yet. Looking forward to it! Thanks for sharing!

Oh ny God! Yessss!!! My son 24 months every night....when I put him to sleep, I kiss him and I tell him, I love you! He answer back to me...I vo vu....This is so beatiful.

Elaina was 16 months old and we were at a restaraunt and she was jabbering away and I leaned over and said: "I love you" and she repeated it back to me. I was in tears-it just melted my heart. She just turned 3 and she will come over and grab my cheeks and squeeze them and say "Mommy you are precious or Mommy you are special-I love you!"
I LOVE BEING A MOMMY!!!!!

I don't remember the first time, but as he's been in his 3's, he's been telling me spontaneously, which is the BEST thing ever!!

DD is 28 months old. She said I love you spontaneously

DH and were just talking about that last night!!! How funny.
We are still waiting for that day! Every time we say "I love you" to DS, he giggles back at us, but will never repeat it or say it spontaneously. I can't wait to hear it some day!

I swear M said it one night when I was putting her to sleep, then I didn't hear her say it for MONTHS and months... I would say I love you, and she would say bye bye. I finally taught her a few weeks ago to say "I love you too". Now she says "love tooooooo!"

Me too! A few weeks ago, I was putting DD into her cribfor the nite, saying "I love you" and she said "wuv u" softly back.... But she hasn't said it again yet. (I think it's driving DH more crazy, since he wasn't there for it...) I hope it's not months until she says it again!!
It was a precious moment I'll cherish always.
