This morning I had my daughter wrapped in her "Guatemala baby blanket," and we were dancing when those wonderful words, "we're attached," came out of her mouth. Now I know she was thinking "attached" as in the way her mittens are attached to her jacket, but I have my own interpretation! Since we had to work for months to become happily attached, it was music to my ears to hear her say that, whatever her intent.

I know plenty of forum members are struggling with attachment, particularly with so many bringing home older babies and toddlers (mine was only 9.5 months, but we struggled nonetheless). I guess I just wanted to share an image of what is down the road. My daughter and I are always working on some issue or other, but we've come so far and I continue to see positive changes in our relationship even this far past our homecoming.

Very very cute.

We're still working through sleep stuff mainly...Some days are much better than others for us. For us, when dd doesn't sleep well she is a terror the next day.
