I just read this. What a sad situation. Her US parents sure fought long and hard for her!

Wow-that really is sad. It's kind of like an extreme divorce case, with no visitation with the noncustodial parents. I really feel for her.

Michele 2/8/06 First homestudy meeting 2/10/06 Sent I-600A 4/17 Dossier is DONE and sent to agency!!! 4/29 Receive 171H!! 7/7/06 Accepted referral of a beautiful baby girl born7/3/06  7/15 POA to Guatemala 8/7 DNA authorization 8/10 DNA Test 8/23 Told that we are in family court (date in ?) 8/31 DNA results received 9/7 Out of family court AND PA!!!!  9/29 In PGN-Finally 11/8 KO-Name affidavit needs an addition 11/15 back in PGN 1/10/07 OUT OUT OUT  1/25/07 submitted for pink 1/30 /07PINK 2/4/07-leave for Guatemala and meet the love of our lives!!!!! 2/5/07 Embassy appointment 2/7/07 Home forever with Malea!!!!!!!!

Did the reporter even try to contact the Bakers? Nothing on their heart break in raising a child since she was four weeks and then having her taken away years later?

I have to agree after reading the whole story and history on Wikapedia that this little girl is where she belongs. It made me mad how unfairly her biological parents were treated by the foster parents and the courts. What a hard situation for the little girl.
