We're trying to plan a Disney World trip for February. I read that the first 2 weeks in Feb. are the best time to go because the crowds are low. Well, we can't go until after 2/15. Does anyone know what the crowds will be like then? The schools in our area have the week of the 16th off, but I don't know if other areas have breaks too.

We go that same time every year with our kids. It's crowded...but we still have fun. There are lots of tricks (see the top rides/shows during the parades, go to the line on the left, start at the back of the park and work forward....) . No matter when you go, you'll have fun! The best time to go is Sept, I've been told.

I'll back that up. We've been to Disney World several times, and IMO September was by far the best time to go. The crowds were VERY small in comparison to summer. Hours were shorter, but with no lines you could do more things in the shorter hours than you could during the summer season's longer hours. In most cases, you could get on rides with no wait at all or at most a few minutes. We rode the Thunder Mountain Railroad five or six times without even getting off one eveing.

I have always gone the first week of February. It is empty and the weather is divine. I was a cheer coach for many years and that is when Nationals is scheduled at Disney World. Even though there are cheerleaders around during the first two week of February, it is not crowded in the least. And cheerleaders and families are pretty nice people and harmless. That is why the resorts have all the rooms available for the squads - because it is low season. If you can swing the first two weeks of February, it is worth it! Just avoid the All-star Resorts and the Caribbean Beach Resort because that is where all the squads stay and you probably don't want to hear squads practicing at midnight! They really do. I always swore when I was there with my squad (and enjoying a wonderful vacation at that) that when it came time for a family vacation, I would go during the first two weeks of Feb!

We'll be in Orlando Feb. 14-21st, because Benjamin has school off that week and it just works better for us. I'm sure it will be busier, but still will be fun nonetheless!!! It would be so FUN to run into each other at Disney!

Because of the President's Day holiday, a lot of schools are out that week and it is pretty crowded. Plus the Daytona 500 is that same weekend (2/15) and a lot of people take off of work and do Disney that week along with going to the race.

I would push up or back a week if you could...you would probably enjoy it a lot more.
