Sending package to Guatemala... I need some help please
Hello, I am mailing package to Mia's FM, and I do not think it will make it in time for Christmas. How long does it normally take for those of you who have mailed packages? Is there any special way that I should mail it?
It is a photo album. Also I have her address and I want to make sure that I am addressing the envelope correctly. What is exactly in their address and on what line? Thanks in advance, Missy

It depends on how you send it. The faster the more costly. Mine usually took a week to arrive.

The times I have sent small packages of photos it has taken about 2 weeks USPS. I used registered mail (or is it certified? I can never remember!) with a return receipt. Then I can be sure it got there. It always takes longer for the receipt to get back to me than that package to get there. Like three to four weeks post delivery to get the receipt. But it always gets there.

I've tried to send to my FM address, and it got returned months later. So I started sending to her daughter's address, and it arrives in 1-2 weeks. I guess the daughter has a more standard address.
I send it like this and it gets there... (example - not a real address) name 2ta. Avienda 1-38 Zona 4 de Mixco Colonia "xxxx" Guatemala, Central America

Use Fed Ex if it is important to get it for Christmas. I use it and it is expensive, but worth it. I have never had a problem.

I've used Fed Ex too... but a few documents costs about $50, so I can only imagine what a pound or two would cost. Any one know?

I would never use Fedex agian after what they did to me and my foster family. Promised it woudl be there, but when it finally got to Guatemala, they refused to take it to Mixco and then tried to charge duty and taxes, which I had specifically requested be included in the cost.
I used King Express previously, but needed the above apckage to arrive in 5 days, not 2 weeks. In the ned it took 2 weeks and I have gone back to using King Express. Love to you,

USPS Global Priority is like $18 a pound and usually gets to Europe within 7-10 days. Your post office should be able to give you an estimate of the time frame.
