okay so last night I was at a small gathering for my sister's graduation and my nosey, kind of crazy Aunt was there. You know the Aunt that asks anything and doesn't think that anything is private! Well I was talking to my mom, telling her about the meeting with my youngest son's birthmother the other day. She was excited to see the pictures and how much my son's siblings look just like him. Well my nosey Aunt stops and looks at the pictures and says, "who's that?" I just responded with, "I's bio sister, isn't she cute?" the next thing she said was, "why didn't they put her on the market too?" My jaw dropped and I didn't know what to say, she is crazy but I even thought that was overly crazy for her. I think that is the worst thing I have ever heard from someone, and I have heard a lot of comments. She continued to ask stupid questions and both my mom and I just pretty much told her to mind her own bussiness and we stopped talking about it. I am so glad my kids weren't there, I think I would have freaked out. I know other's have had crazy comments, but this one is close to the top, atleast for me!

I agree it's close to the top. How insensitive to even suggest that her birth mom thought of it as a business transaction rather than probably the hardest decision of her life.

When people ask personal or insensitive questions about the adoption, our typical response is: "Carter's adoption is a beautiful story, but it is his story. As he grows up, we hope he shares it with people that he loves and trusts. However, it is his adoption story. So, we are hesitant to discuss it with a lot of people. Maybe someday he'll chose to share it with you?"

Thanks guys for your nice comments, yep that is my attitude, it's my son's story and if he wants to discuss it when he gets older it is his choice.
