OT: Christmas morning breakfast

I am just curious as to what kind of breakfast you make on Christmas morning and when you eat it? I am really trying to establish some fun solid traditions for my little family while my kids are still little and I would love to hear what you guys do in your families on Christmas morning! Thanks!

I do an egg type thing...

scrambled eggs
kilbasa sausage
toast/english muffins
some type of potato - hash or country square thingys
juice

I just make a lot more than normal... nothing major although I feel like I'm forgetting somethings...

We eat around 8-9ish... after we open the presents and relax for a little while I start cooking and they play while I get it all ready

After opening presents my Daddy always made us eggs, bacon, fried potatoes, and toast or cinnamon buns...Now my brother does it for all of us. This year it's at our house and in addition to all the yummy things mentioned above, I'm making pancakes. I've been looking forward to it for a month.

OH - we do those pilsberry cinnamon rolls sometimes - I'll pop them in so we can eat them during or right after presents and then I don't have to start cooking for a little longer

Well we're a New York City family, so our Christmas morning tradition has always been bagels with cream cheese and lox (smoked salmon)! We also do it after opening presents - like a brunch thing rather then breakfast. My guess is that A this year will probably have some yogurt or something like that first thing in the AM so she doesn't get too hungry waiting.

We do a big breakfast. Pancakes (blueberry for mom and dad...chocolate chip for D) bacon, bacon, bacon and more bacon for Sophia. We usually have eggs, some homemade sticky buns and this yummy potato thing. The sad thing is there is only four of us so it is way too much food but we enjoy making it and eating it and just taking it easy all day.

french bread, eggs, milk, sausage and cheese. It's basically a bread pudding that soaks overnight topped with the sausage and melted cheese. You can do them with ham or no meat - there are a million variations. Just google "breakfast casserole". HTH!

We do breakfast/brunch at my brother's house around 10am. Last year I brought a French Toast dish that could be made the night before then just put in the oven in the morning and it was great. I don't have the recipe right now, but maybe you can find it online.

The Pillsbury cinnamon rolls are my Thanksgiving breakfast tradition. They are easy and quick and don't fill you up too much.

We have fruit salad, country ham rolls (for my Southern husband), bagels and lox (for me!) and some type of yogurt/granola for the fruit. We usually have mimosas too.

I keep it fairly light so we can enjoy dinner later.

We do a Big Southern Breakfast at my mom's. Country Ham, biscuits, saugage and saugage gravy, fried apples, eggs, hash browns of some sort and some other stuff that I am forgetting... Oh I can't wait!!! I only eat this once a year...

These are great ideas!!! This is the first year in about 7 years that I am not hosting all of my in-laws for dinner (about 30 people, mostly kids ). I am looking forward to enjoying the morning & making a nice brunch for our family... instead of rushing around like a crazy woman preparing for the company.

Peace,
Amy
